Welcome
to My Site

My name is Aidan Morgan. I am an art student at CSU Stanislaus.

My Artist Statement

It is so easy to go to the dark. It feels as though we are so frequently bombarded with negativity in our everyday lives that it can seem like the good in life is nowhere to be found. I feel we often focus too much on the troubles in our lives. It can grow to the point that we think our lives are totally out of our control and feel we are living from one hardship to another. I wish to show through my work that the good and beautiful things in the world and our own lives are there for us no matter how dark things may seem.
I create paintings with vibrant color palettes to evoke a sense of happiness. My pieces are inspired by people, things, moments, and places from my life that have brought me joy and a feeling of inner peace. I work quickly to create small intimate works. My reason for these quick works is to not obsess over small details or imperfections. I have felt that spending enormous amounts of time trying to ensure that each detail and brushstroke is perfect causes unnecessary stress and worry. While happy moments of my life drift in and out of my mind, I aim to eternalize them in my work, so they never truly leave me. I paint the beauty of my life because it brings me joy. Even if the work does not perfectly reflect my memory, the piece recreates the feeling of the moment instead of perfectly retelling the memory. It is about being in the moment, savoring the joys of life, and moving forward no matter the bumps we go over.
I wish to show through my work that the good and beautiful things in the world and our own lives are there for us no matter how dark things may seem. I know life has its ups and downs and we can never know what it has in store. And so, I create reminders that the sun will always rise again no matter how dark life may become. Through positivity, the good and beauty of the world, big or small, will always be there to brighten our day and bring us joy.
